Roscarrock Farm Wedding - Ami and Jacob's Port Isaac Farm Wedding

Ami and Jacob’s Roscarrock Farm Wedding

Ami and Jacob had a wonderful and fun wedding at Roscarrock Farm in Port Isaac, Cornwall (fun fact, Doc Martin from the telly was filmed here).

This day was definitely what I would describe as “my ideal wedding to photograph”

A truly lovely couple (who are partial to a bit of crowd surfing), a beautiful barn ceremony, a marquee reception surrounded by a lovely walled garden with a coastal view, garden games, no stuffy traditions, a crazy (and really disgusting) drinking game and an absolutely epic live band with a crazy party. Oh and FOOD! Yummy veggie Burgers, barbecued halloumi and TACOS!!! Nom Nom. What a day!

Big massive thanks to Philip at the venue for always being super helpful and lifting me up on a cherry picker to take the group photos! and A HUGE thanks to the lovely band (I Love AMP) and catering team (White Radish) for the hangs and chats during little breaks.

That’s enough from me. Let me hand you over to Ami and Jacob…

The Awesome Couple

Tell us your story of how you met and got to this awesome stage in your lives? We met at Derriford hospital! We are both physios. Although Ami actually would rather be treating animals! We started going out at work events. Rented together in beautiful south east Cornwall. Then after 5 years I proposed near her family home at Godrevy. We went on google maps for a venue by the Cornish coast and quickly found Roscarrock. We had the most amazing day in the sun at the farm, and Jamie was fantastic. He was there for every moment, including sitting on a cherry picker to get the best shot!

what was your favourite part of your wedding?: The whole thing?, The ceremony, The pre drinks, Jamie being lifted up by a cherry picker, The SPEECHES, The meal, The band, The dancing later on, The fact that Jamie was STILL there late into the night.

Your favourite story/s from the day - The one/s that you will tell when you are really really old: How my Uncle had his own unique way of doing his first non-religious ceremony. Speeches, especially Adam’s (the last one). How nice the sun was as it was setting. The dancing. The bar. The games.

What made you choose your venue for your wedding?: We wanted to be married by the Cornish coast. We wanted somewhere where we could control every aspect, especially the ceremony and where and what we would eat. We also loved the thought of somewhere that doesn’t do many weddings. We didn’t want a generic wedding factory location. I loved that it was a working farm.

What made you choose the details and theme/styling for your wedding? : We both love old fashioned things, gardening, woodwork, games, and cycling. So we added them in some way to every aspect of the wedding. We wanted it to be clearly parts of our interests and personality throughout the day, that it couldn’t never be repeated, to be a unique moment for everyone.

What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding?:Choose Jamie as their photographer! Give yourself plenty of time. If you like to do it yourself, plan it heavily and get a lot of help!

I love food, music and entertainment They are the some of the best things about weddings! - What food did you have, was it yummy and what did you have to entertain yourselves and your guests? : Mixed bean burger, BBQ fish, trio of desserts (lemon posset, salted chocolate torte, Eton mess)

Ami walked down the aisle to Tenerife sea by Ed Sheeran. We sung Here Comes the Sun and Just the Two of Us in our ceremony, and we left the ceremony area with Old Pine by Ben Howard.

We had lots of garden games, Tacos for evening food, and the band played throughout the evening.

A Shout Out to your wedding suppliers:

Main Caterers - White Radish Band - I Love Amp Evening food - Wild Food Kitchen Marquee - Hine Marquees Cakes and Flowers by Family Hair - Hannah Woodgate Hair from Bude Makeup - Charlotte Albert
We made everything else!

What were you looking for in your photographer, Why on earth did you choose Jamie Webb as your photographer and what was it like working with Jamie on the day? You were strongly recommended by friends! So we checked out your website, and loved that you were relaxed, and that you did a lot of informal photos.

Is there anything else that you would like to add?: You were brilliant!

Thanks so much! This is incredible feedback and I’m glad that the cherry picker moment was memorable for you, haha! Below are some of my fave photos! I hope that they bring you many many smiles…
